Security operatives have dispersed Yourba Nation protesters at Gani Fawehinmi Park, venue of their mega rally.
It was gathered that the protesters gathered at the Ojota venue in their numbers when the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu was addressing journalists.
The protesters lamented the rising insecurity in the southwest, they also decried the attack on Sunday Igboho’s residence, raising flags, sharing fliers on the Yoruba Nation, they also chanted “Yoruba Nation Now, No going back”, “Igboho Oosa”, “No retreat, No surrender”
Odumosu while addressing Journalists, stated that protesters have the right to protest, but it is not the right time to protest due to the destruction that followed the last #EndSARS protests.
Immediately Odumosu left, the Police cannon trucks sprayed water on the protesters.
They were tear-gassed at the venue.
The protesters, who fled the scene at different directions, went to regroup at the bridge also at Ojota.
About 23 vans of security operatives including Nigerian Army, RRS Attack, Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps, Lagos State Task Force, Cannon trucks were seen at strategic points and at the venue of the rally.
