Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the outgoing Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has announced plans to commission 24 legacy projects before concluding his eight-year tenure. The pledge was made during the inauguration of five key projects in the council area on Tuesday, 8th July, marking the start of a three-day commissioning event.
Oshinowo highlighted that the 24 projects, designed to stand the test of time, reflect his administration’s commitment to delivering lasting benefits to the community. Among the projects commissioned on Tuesday were three roads spanning 1.75 kilometers: Thomas Laniyan Road (800m), Irawo Okunbadejo Road (460m), and Abayomi Owoade Road (490m). Additionally, the Hon. Tunde Braimoh Model Market, a modern trading facility, and the Chief Stephen Oyedele Sports and Recreational Center were unveiled.
“These are not just projects; they are legacy initiatives that will serve our people for years to come,” Oshinowo stated. “We are committed to serving our community until the very last day of our administration.” He expressed gratitude to his team, investors, traders, and residents for their support and patience throughout his tenure.
Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, commended Oshinowo for surpassing expectations and setting a strong foundation for the incoming administration. “These projects are a testament to Mayor Oshinowo’s dedication and provide a platform for the APC to showcase its achievements in future elections,” Obasa said.
Sen. Gbenga Ashafa, who commissioned the roads, urged the incoming administration to build on Oshinowo’s accomplishments. “The foundation has been laid; it’s now up to the next leadership to continue this progress without letting the party or the people down,” he said.
Oshinowo’s administration plans to commission the remaining projects in the coming days, reinforcing his commitment to serving the Agboyi-Ketu community until the end of his term.
