Residents of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA recently witnessed a rebuttal from their local government following what was described as a “misguided and malicious publication” by the Agboyi Progressive Union regarding the ongoing construction of the Agboyi Link Bridge.

According to a statement released by the LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s administration felt compelled to address what they deemed as inaccuracies and misrepresentations in the publication, purportedly led by Comrade Musbau Adebisi.

In the statement, the LCDA clarified several points:

Project Attribution: The LCDA reiterated that Mayor Dele Oshinowo never claimed credit for the construction of the Agboyi Link Bridge, acknowledging it as a project undertaken by the Federal Government. This clarification aimed to dispel any misconceptions regarding the LCDA’s role in the bridge construction.

Community Engagement: Emphasizing their commitment to transparency and collaboration, the LCDA highlighted ongoing efforts to engage with stakeholders throughout the project’s development. They acknowledged the collective contributions of various individuals and entities involved in facilitating the bridge construction.

Route Clarification: Responding to claims of misinformation, the LCDA explained the discrepancy between the routes mentioned, attributing it to differing structural designs by the Lagos State Government and the Federal Government.

Administration’s Approach: The LCDA defended its administration against accusations of superficial engagement, asserting their dedication to action-driven strategies aimed at addressing community needs effectively.

Flood Relief Efforts: Addressing concerns regarding flood relief efforts, the LCDA confirmed the establishment of a committee to assess flood damage and take necessary action. Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s visit during the flood period was reaffirmed as an expression of solidarity with affected residents and an opportunity to inspect ongoing projects.

Water Borehole Project: The LCDA dismissed criticisms regarding a solar-powered borehole project, citing technical considerations and emphasizing its effectiveness in providing water access to residents.

The LCDA concluded by urging residents to disregard the misinformation circulated by the Agboyi Progressive Union and encouraged them to seek accurate information from LCDA officials. The statement ended with a message of unity and blessings for the Agboyi Land and the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA community.
