Hon. Yacoob Ishola Balogun

The Lagos State House of Assembly had on Thursday May 14, rejected the reappointment of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA’s APC chieftain, Hon Abiodun Akhigbe into another tenure of the State Audit Service Commission, as submitted by the Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

While Mr. Jimoh Akanbi Ibrahim was absent at the screening, the three other nominees were confirmed by the Assembly and they were the Chairperson, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adepeju Adegbuji-Onikoyi, Mr. Emmanuel Sunday Kappo (member), and Mrs. Jokotola Ojosipe-Ogundimu (member).
Just four days after Akhigbe was rejected, the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday confirmed two additional nominees for the Audit Service Commission.

The new nominees are former Ikosi-Isheri LCDA chairmanship aspirant, Mr Yacoob Ishola Balogun and Mr. Jimoh Akanbi Ibrahim, who was absent at the first screening. Yacoob Balogun was used to replace Hon Abiodun Oladipupo Akhigbe, who was rejected by the House.

Though, both from the same Kosofe local government, Hon Akhigbe is a proxy to popular Kosofe and Lagos-East leader, Chief Oyedele, while Hon Yacoob is an indigent of the awori lineage of Ketu, whose political connects affiliates to the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Aregbesola despite being a minister, was handed over the baton  to oversee the affairs of the political structure of Lagos by the National leader of the All progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

We believe, this is good news for the Balogun royal family of Ketu, who lost two of their bigwigs recently, and a victory for the entire Awori indigents, who have been protesting their marginilization from public offices and political positions in their land.
