Hon. Yacoob Balogun |
Hon. Yacoob Balogun, a former council chairmanship aspirant, has found favour of the APC again
as he has been allegedly picked to represent the All Progressives Congress in the coming bye-election of Kosofe constituency II.
Balogun who was dropped by the Governor, from the position of a board member of the Lagos State Audit Commission, after being screened by the Lagos State House of Assembly, was replaced with Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara.
It was gathered that Balogun’s candidature was approved by the APC’s National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is the sole determinant of who gets what in the Lagos APC.
Yacoob Balogun is an Awori, whose both families hail from Ketu and Isheri respectively. It would mean that the APC is probably hearing the yearnings of the Awori people, who cry of being allegedly marginalized for decades.
However, investigations by this medium revealed that Yakub’s nomination has not received the approval of all in the race to represent Kosofe State Constituency II, after the death of Braimoh.
Hon. Yacoob Balogun, has contested in various council elections in the past, and has directly been involved in bringing developments to Kosofe local government through his connects with executive officers who run the affairs of government at the state level.
The event of the coming days would further reveal the clarity of this development. We await the reaction of party members and stakeholders as to this development.
