Ahead of the All Progressives Congress primary election coming up Saturday, May 29, news filtered in from Bourdillon on the evening of Friday, 21st of May that the consultation on aspirants who should emerge the council Chairmen of Kosofe and Ikosi-Isheri was underway. After due consultation with the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) members, Asiwaju Tinubu consulted with first Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Hon Kunle Soname, House of Representatives member, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, Kosofe Constituency II House of Assembly member, Hon. Femi Saheed, Chairman of the Lagos State Audit Board, Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, Hon. Afolabi Kazeem amongst other Ikosi-Isheri political leaders. All the ‘ayes’ was in favour of the incumbent, Princess Samiat Bada, except for Hon. Agunsoye, whose choice was a ‘nay’ against the Mayoress.

A similar exercise transpired in Kosofe LG, where leaders unanimously showed their support for the candidacy of Barrister Moyo Ogunlewe, amidst 8 other contending aspirants. Omo Oloore as he is popularly called, Hon. Olanrewaju Oladunjoye was the first to congratulate Hon Ogunlewe, followed by Hon Lanre Carew, Hon Aigoro, Hon Gbadebo amongst others.

It came as a big surprise that up till now, no Chairmanship aspirant in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA has congratulated Princess Bada on her emergence as the party’s candidate. This is an affront on the party’s leadership, it is either the followership isn’t properly briefed of the development, or the aspirants make bold step to challenge the decision of the party leadership by demanding a primary exercise, in preference of the consensus.
