Alapere canal before BYO intervention

The Buhari Youth Organisation, BYO, Lagos Chapter, Saturday, urged Lagos State Government to formulate policies that will encourage effective disposal of wastes by members of local communities.
The call was made during the group’s Monthly Community Service Initiative (MCSI), an initiative said to be an offshoot of the environmental sustainability and developmental agenda of the BYO, Lagos Chapter.
KosofeInsideOut gathered that members of the group converged en mass to cleanup parts of the completely blocked canal at Alapere Estate, Alapere-Ketu, Kosofe Local Government Area of the state.
The debris on the canal had formed a dump-site, impacting negatively and posing a big risk on the health of residents in the area.
Speaking at the sanitation exercise, the General Secretary of the group, Comrade Kunle Aderibigbe, tasked the State government to develop policies that will motivate residents to develop the right attitude towards effective disposal of wastes.
