-Hails President Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-olu, Mayor Dele Oshinowo Administrations for their huge investment in Education
To make learning spaces more conducive and interactive, the Councillor representing Ward ‘D’ at the Agboyi-Ketu Legislative Council, Hon. Bashir Saheed Omogbolahan better known as ‘Elewedu’ has launched “Black to White Project”, geared towards donating white boards to public primary schools in his constituency.
The black to white project starting at Ajelogo Primary School marks the twentieth landmark project initiated thus far by the grassroots lawmaker since his assumption in office in July 2021.
Among the projects undertaken so far were the training of his constituents on production of Liquid Soap Production, Deodorant, Provision of Start- Up Capital to Young Traders, Distribution of Sanitation Materials to Public Primary Schools, Distribution of GCE Forms, Cash Support for Vulnerable Traders.
Others are Organization of Elewedu Football Kids Cup for all Public Primary Schools in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Monthly Financial Support for Vulnerable Constituents, Provision of Tool Kits for Young Artisans , Distribution of School Bags to Brilliant Students in Public Primary Schools and Distribution of School Uniforms to Vulnerable Pupils.
Speaking on the importance of the project, Councillor Elewedu said that the proposition to procure the white boards was as a result of his consultation with the Head Teacher of Ajelogo Primary School, Mrs. Fatimat Hassan during the inaugural Elewedu Football Kids Cup played at the open field of the school.
He, however ,explained that the delay in execution of the project was due to other commitments to make life better for his constituents and beyond.
Councillor Elewedu further described his educational programs as a firm commitment to complement the ongoing efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu and Mayor Dele Oshinowo administrations in providing quality education for the Nigerian Child.
“I am a product of public primary education in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, I am an alumnus of Orisigun Primary School, Ketu. Thus, my commitment as a grassroots lawmaker is to put smiles on the faces of pupils because I understand the wrong societal belief associated with public primary schools”
“Therefore, in a bid to complement the enormous investment of the Federal, State and Local Governments in providing quality education, I took this upon myself to ensure eight percent of my intervention programs are tilted in favor of the next generation”
In attendance to grace the unveiling of the project were some executive members of the All Progressives Congress in the Ward ‘D’ Area of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.
The delegation was led-by the Chairman of the party in the ward, Mr. Bakare Idowu, others are Women Leader, Kuye Olabisi, Secretary, Junaid Hammed, Treasurer, Lawal Hamid, Deputy Women Leader, Mrs. Remi Lasisi and Agboyi-Ketu APC LGA Ex-Officio, Mr. Ibrahim Nurudeen.
