In a bid to ameliorate the impact of the lockdown occasioned by the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic on the global and economic scene, the Vanguard for Good Governance has committed to feeding and donating cash gifts to over 100 families. This bold step was taken in order to cushion the effects of
the hardship of some of their members and by extension, the general public, due to the stay at home, especially now that it has been extended by the Federal government for additional 14 days.
The initiative, a brain-child of the Convener, General Oromidayo Balogun, was borne out of the hardship and suffering he witnessed during the lockdown of the previous 14 day, when he visited the residents of some of the communities around Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.

Consequently, the Vanguard for Good Governance has set up a special palliative fund running into Hundreds of Thousands of Naira, from which some members of the Group have their accounts credited, while others get supports of airtime and data.

More than 30 vulnerable women in the community received cartons of food products, which comprises of essential food items which will last them for some time.
Beneficiaries were full of gratitude for the relief support extended to them.

Oromidayo, in a statement tasked stakeholders to promote the Covid-19 awareness via their individual social media platforms. The effects, actions, symptoms, reactions and possible ways of avoiding the spread of the virus in order to ensure it is defeated as soon as possible. He further urged VGG members and the general public to adhere strictly to government directives over the pandemic, in order to curtail further spread of the deadly virus.
