Initial reports painted a gruesome picture, with witnesses describing the graphic scene where Omoba’s face was rendered unrecognizable, a stark testimony to the brutality of the clash. However, further investigation revealed a startling truth: Omoba had no ties to any cult group.
Instead, Omoba was a multifaceted individual, engaged in a variety of professions ranging from pro boxing to real estate agency and meat selling. Just the day before the tragic events, he had showcased his boxing prowess by emerging victorious in a physical altercation with a cultist, earning admiration from onlookers for his strength and skill.
Yet, fate took a cruel turn the following day. Responding to what he believed to be a routine house inspection, Omoba was met with deceit as individuals posing as clients revealed themselves to be cultists. Tragically, the ensuing violence claimed his life, leaving behind a void in the community.
Witnesses recounted hearing chilling chants of “Aye axemen” during the incident, highlighting the gravity of the situation. Omoba’s dreams of pursuing a career in pro boxing abroad, evident in his ongoing visa application, now remain unfulfilled, adding to the tragedy of his untimely demise.
