The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, popularly known as the Mayoress, has  procured 250 General Certificate Examination, GCE forms to indigent  Senior Secondary School 3 students, as part of incentives for  her education support initiative.

In an interview with journalists, Samiat Bada noted that the free GCE forms being distributed, if judiciously utilised , will contribute positively and directly in moulding a brighter future for the beneficiaries.

“Our administration is irrevocably committed to the welfare of our people, we therefore, will continue to make education our top priority, hence our distribution of Year 2023 GCE forms today”. She said.

She however, encourages the beneficiaries to justify the huge amount of public funds expended into procuring the forms by striving hard to come out successfully in the forthcoming examinations.

The Supervisor for Education of the council, Hon. Dayo Ogunleye disclosed that the motive behind the initiative is to give succour to parents due to the current economic challenges. He praised the Council Chairman for coming through to her words, which he said she commenced since coming into office, in 2021.

He encouraged the students to study hard to pass the GCE in order to be privileged to get the free Jamb form, also sponsored by the Mayoress.

A beneficiary, Oluwatoyin Abbass, an Ikosi-Isheri resident, appreciated the Mayoress for the opportunity she has given to students who have failed the GCE previously, to make amends, “not everybody have the opportunity or money to obtain the form to retake the exam, I promise to work hard, excel and make the Mayoress proud.

Another beneficiary, Aboyede Esther Arinola, commended the effort of the Executive Chairman, noting that she appreciates the opportunity given to her to flourish, promised that she will reward her with good grades in the examination.
