Hon. Sanni Babatunde Okanlawon
Member, Lagos State House of Assembly
Kosofe Constituency 1

Hon Okanlawon Sanni, Kosofe constituency 1’s representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly, in his Sallah’s message calls for a sober reflection during the period of Eid-El-Fitr to improve on the peaceful co-existence with one another.
Eid-El-Fitr is a festival that signifies the end of a 30-day fast embarked upon by Muslim faithfuls across the globe, usually celebrated with social gatherings. But, due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, the government Islamic authorities have implored Muslims to celebrate the season in their homes. In a statement personally signed by Hon Okanlawon Sanni, he noted that “The combination of thirty days of Fasting, thirty days of Devotion, prayers and worship and battle against the pernicious Covid-19 pandemic calls for sober reflection in the face of Eid-il-fitri celebration. There are still battles ahead but with prayers and adherence to NCDC & W.H.O protocols, I believe the battle is surmountable. As we hope to conquer the seeming pensive mood and low morale occasioned by this global happenings, I fervently pray that Allah swt, answer all our prayers and accept our devotions, supplications and worship as an act of Ibaadah. May this never be our last Ramadan on earth. May Allah spare our lives to witness many more. Let’s keep hope alive. Surely there shall be light at the end of the tunnel. EID MUBARAQ to all my Constituents and Lagosians generally. Cheers”
