Hon. Afolabi Kazeem, former Executive Secretary of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has called on all chairmanship aspirants in the July 12 local government election in Lagos State to pursue their ambitions peacefully. He emphasized the need for supporters to conduct themselves according to the law and avoid violence.

Kazeem made this appeal during the commissioning of the Isheri Area Office, Hon. Kunle Soname Multiple-Purpose Hall, and Hon. Afolabi Kazeem Complex in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. He urged aspirants with low supporters to consider withdrawing before the primary election to support candidates with majority support.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has fixed July 12 for the local government elections, covering 57 chairmanship and 376 councillor seats across 20 Local Governments and 37 LCDAs in the state. A re-run, if needed, is scheduled for July 19.

Kazeem advised aspirants to tell their supporters to engage in partisan politics without bitterness, emphasizing that only one person can occupy the chairmanship seat at a time. He also urged LASIEC to prepare adequately for the elections to ensure peace and order across the state.
