Ikosi-isheri Council Chairman Urges Residents To Embrace The Cleaner Lagos Initiative 

The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area,Engr Abdul Fatai Oyesanya  has urged residents of the council to embrace totally the Cleaner Lagos Initiative environmental agenda to be launched by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in September.
The council chairman made the urge while flagging of a sensitisation campaign of the council on the Cleaner Lagos Initiative, at Jakande and Mile 12 markets .
Engr Oyesanya informed the traders that Governor Ambode has directed all the 57 councils in the state to ensure that people at the grassroot key into the new agenda of his administration on cleanliness of Lagos State.

He added that this reason informed his decision to flag of the sensitisation campaign inside the two markets before shifting attention to residents abode.
The council chairman reminded the traders that government will not hesitate to close down any market that is dirty and as such they must work together as stakeholders to ensure that the surroundings of the  markets are in clean state regularly.
He  further told them that cleanliness of their markets should be a priority to them because that is where people buy  the food they consume.
Engr Oyesanya used the occasion to appeal to residents of the council to desist from dumping refuse inside the drainages in order to prevent flooding.
He assured them that his administration has provided adequate  human and material resources to clean drainages and cart away refuse across the seven wards of the council during the duration of the sensitisation campaign.
He concluded that the motive behind the strategy is to ensure that Ikosi-Isheri LCDA is in a clean state before the launch of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative by Governor Ambode in September.
Among those in the entourage of the council chairman during the sensitisation campaign are, the council’s Vice Chairman, Princess Bolanle Samiat Bada, wife of the Chairman, Mrs Oyesanya Kudirat, Councillors of the seven wards, Head of Administration in the council, Mrs Omoloju Comfort, the council’s Environmental Officer, Mrs Salami Temitayo and other officials of the council.
