You alone I worship and from you alone I seek my help…

Today as I stand before this great gathering, at the verge of history, as the first female Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. I remember the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr., he said: “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenges and controversy.”

What could be more challenging than the demise of a great Boss who doubles as a leader in whose symbolic shadow I served twice as a Vice Chairman until today. What could be more controversial as a woman stepping into the shoes of a great man at a time when outstanding progress is the new norm all around Lagos State.
Words won’t be sufficient to measure the depth of our pain as a LCDA over the death of Engr. Abdul-Fatai Oyesanya, May God grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
I want to commiserate with the family of our late brother especially the wife Chief Mrs. Kudirat Oyesanya, and I also promise an unflinching support for the family. I pray that  God will  continue to be your comforter.

However, on this auspicious occasion of my inauguration as the new chairman of Ikosi Isheri LCDA .

I wish to affirm my commitment to the fulfillment of the promise of a better LCDA that would be the pride of the entirety of Lagos State.
Let me make this known to you all today, at Ikosi Isheri LCDA, we are destined to succeed, and that is the uncontestable truth.

We will be committed to giving more focus to provision of social amenities and community development.
We shall give priority to human support for the aged through Operation Feed the Elderly Initiative.
Capacity building for the youth through training and retraining.
Creation of Vocational centers.
At Ikosi Isheri LCDA, our greatest asset is our human resources, the indefatigable and efficient workforce.

We are also blessed with a Governor – Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu – who is constantly striving to be better than yesterday every new day; and a deputy Governor -( Dr Kadiri Hamzat)- who complements him excellently, not forgetting the only person that has the mandate to speak in Lagos, our speaking Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Obasa, more grace for greater exploits sirs!

The vision of our great party (APC) which is greatness, all round development and the betterment of the people.
A Party so blessed with an endless repertoire of great minds for a synergy of excellence. APC! APC!! AP&C!!!

We are also blessed to have a Father, who is also a leader.    Not just a leader, but a leader of leaders.   Our own oracle,  our  navigator,   our oasis,  ‘amu eko’ a man of great vision the pacesetter for a greater Lagos,  the architect of a new Lagos and the apex national leader of our great party, the grand Jagaban of Bogue, the man on whose mandate we stand  His Excellency, Sanator, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We appreciate you so much sir. May God continue to preserve your life in good health and in wealth.

This speech will be incomplete if I do not acknowledge the support and mentorship of the this great man that brought me from nowhere to somewhere, the man who thought me POLITICS and not POLITRICKS (‘O ko mi ni Oselu, ko ko mi ni Ojelu’)  a pragmatic and selfless leader, Distinguished Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Senator Adebayo Sikirilahi Osinowo (Pepperito “Pepe” pepper them.) This great man identifies with me through thick and thin as a father, friend, adviser and political leader.
I also want to appreciate the support of a caring and affable mother Alhaja Mariam Osinowo (Yeye Fedration)

I want to thank all our guests, for making out the time to be present here today. Special thanks to my brother Hon. Kunle Soname, the pioneer chairman, the man that set the ball rolling in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA (he had to cut short his overseas travels to be here today.)
