The Lagos State Government has honoured the Councillor representing Ward ‘B’ at the Agboyi-Ketu Legislative Council, Hon. Oluwatoyin Odegbesan for her contribution to the progress of humanity and development of Lagos State.

Odegbesan bagged the Lagos State Government’s Women Achievement Recognition Award for Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

It would be recalled that the female councillor recently constructed a borehole in order to provide clean and drinkable water for her constituents, aside from the many people-oriented projects undertaken since assuming office.

She was awarded a state plaque at the 2022 International Women’s Day Program organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena,Onikan.

Dumbfounded by her announcement at the venue, the female councillor thanked God Almighty for directing her path in life.

“This is unbelievable, when I started my political journey, I never believed I could become a councillor, but ‘Human Proposes ,God Disposes’.

“Thus, as a reward to Almighty God for His grace upon me, I have vowed to use my office as a fulcrum to inspire humanity”

She further expressed appreciation to her husband for giving her the space to participate in politics, and the Chairman  of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Dele Oshinowo for providing a conducive atmosphere for the women folks to progress under his leadership.

Councillor Odegbesan further stated that the award is dedicated to the hospitable women of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, without prejudice to creed, calling or political leanings.

As a mark of appreciation, the female councillor paid an unscheduled visit to present the plaque to the Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

Receiving the awardee, the chairman reiterated his administration’s drive to embark on more projects that will improve the welfare and well-being of women in the LCDA.

Mayor Dele urged her to keep her foot on the gas of progress, while spurring other women in the LCDA to emulate her altruistic lifestyle in order to be celebrated and honoured too.

The councillor also showcased the award to some community and political leaders in the locality.
