After about 2years of wait, the Baloguns who are directly at the helms of affairs of the Ketu Central mosque deemed it necessary to install a new Chief Imam. This title has caused a rift amongst the major contenders of the position, the likes of Alhaji Jamiu Balogun whose intention is to become the successor of the late Imam, Alhaji Yakub Balogun, and Alhaji Ismail Balogun, son to late Alhaji Yakub Balogun’s predecessor, Alhaji Rahman Balogun. The major cause for alarm from Alhaji Jamiu’s point of view is because Alhaji Ismail is a grand-son to their parents, hence he feels since he is a direct son, he stands a better chance to mantle the leadership of  the Mosque. The supposed person to the Imamship title is the Naib (Deputy to the Imam), Alhaji Sulaiman Balogun, who has been on a long term illness.
Just a few days ago, the family held a meeting of stake holders and a conclusion was reached that Alhaji Ismail Balogun should resume the office of the chief Imam of Ketu Central Mosque.
