Former Vice Chairman of Kosofe Local government and son of late Oba Oloruntoyin Saliu of Oworo , Prince Babatunde Saliu, has been crowned the new king of Oworo kingdom by the Lagos State government. The moment was magical and historic, as Prince Babatunde Saliu was crowned to take over the throne of his forebears in Oworosoki Kingdom.
After several months of tussle on who takes over the throne as the King of the Oworosoki after the demise of the Late Bashiru Oloruntoyin Saliu, the erstwhile Oloworo of Oworosoki, who takes over the saddle became a major issue amongst the ruling houses.
However, fortunes smiled on Prince Babatunde Saliu, who was crowned the new king of Oworosoki in a private ceremony held at the office of the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
He was presented a Certificate that confirmed his Installation as the New Oloworo Of Oworosoki Kingdom.
A delighted Prince Babatunde Saliu could not hold back is joy, as he felt fulfilled to have succeeded his father..
In his words, he thanked God Almighty for this feat, promising to lead the Kingdom in a peaceful, cordial and foster unity among the people.
He Pledged to further bring development to the Kingdom and prioritize the wellbeing of the people, uphold and sustain the sanctity, norms, values and norms of the kingdom in accordance to the good legacy laid down by his Father.
