The Labour Party candidate of the Lagos State House of Assembly in Kosofe Constituency 1, Mr Akinwande Osikominu has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of massive intimidation of voters, in  the on going March 18, 2023, gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

Osikominu made these allegations at his polling unit on Sieffre street, Ifako, while speaking to members of the Kosofe League of Journalists. He said, “The turn out is a bit low compared to the previous election. I am also aware about intimidation in some areas in Kosofe, some gates were shut, like the access gate in atunrase going into Medina. As it stands, it’s still very okay, peacefup in most areas. We implore more people to come out.”

When asked about the process, he urged the election umpire, INEC, not to be complacent, while also transmit the results of today’s election as stipulated in the guidelines and as ordered by the courts.” I foresee a very good election this time around. I expect that INEC will play their part, so that people can actually come out and exercise their fundamental human right, so that INEC can actually instill the confidence in people.” He said.
