The gubernatorial and state legislatures elections have commenced in most parts of Kosofe local government, except for polling unit 036, Mende Maryland, where the incumbent and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Honourable Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, would cast his vote.
The lawmaker, commended the early arrival of INEC with election materials, he however implored them to allow the process be free and fair, making people’s votes count.
The candidate displayed confidence at the outcome of the election results while hinting that the malfunctioning of the BVAS should not be a sabotage to the electoral process.
The candidate, while speaking to Kosofe League of Journalists, at his Okugade polling unit in Mende, pleaded with his teeming supporters to eschew violence and remain calm, while INEC resolves its technical setback. He said “My candid advice is that it’s our power, it’s our franchise and our civic responsibility that we must perform. I’m begging everybody to be calm. It is Victory all the way for APC. I’m optimistic. He concluded.
