The Lions Club District 404B2 Nigeria, Lagos State, commemorated World AIDS Day on December 2 with an awareness campaign at Owena Motor Park in Ojota, Lagos.

Lion Folashade Afolabi, Chairperson of the Committee for HIV-AIDS Status, Lions Club District 404B2 Nigeria, Lagos State, urged youths to shun unhealthy sexual practices and substance abuse that could lead to risky sexual behaviour.

As part of the awareness campaign, the Lions Club offered free medical checks and tests, including HIV/AIDS tests, blood pressure checks, and medical checks. This initiative is aimed to promote awareness and encourage people to know their status.

The District Governor of the Lion Club District 404B2, Lion Tolulope Senbanjo, highlighted the Lions Clubs International’s commitment to serving humanity, with over 107 years of service. He emphasized the organization’s focus on eight major causes, including diabetes, hunger, vision, environment, pediatric cancer, youth empowerment, humanitarian efforts, and disaster relief.

 

The Lions Club District 404B2 Nigeria implored everyone to join the fight against HIV/AIDS by promoting awareness, encouraging responsible behaviour, and supporting those affected by the disease.
