The administration of Mayor Dele Oshinowo, Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has strongly debunked a malicious publication falsely attributing a threatening political stance against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. The statement, signed by Abideen Olamilekan, Principal Assistant and Media Executive to the Chairman, described the report as a “fabrication, devoid of truth, character, or decency.”

The misleading publication alleged that Mayor Oshinowo, a staunch All Progressives Congress (APC) loyalist, was undermining the party and President Tinubu, whom Oshinowo openly reveres as “the greatest political leader of our time.” The statement clarified that comments made by any aide on social media do not represent the Chairman’s views, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the APC’s supremacy, decisions, and structures.

Oshinowo’s political journey, marked by service as Secretary to the Local Government and consecutive electoral victories as Executive Chairman in 2017 and 2021, was highlighted as evidence of his merit-based leadership and loyalty to the APC. The statement dismissed attempts to tarnish his reputation as “laughable and regrettable,” noting his role as Director of Outreach and Endorsement for the Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu (GMT) 2027 Re-election Project, a position that underscores his dedication to President Tinubu’s renewed mandate.

The administration also refuted claims linking Oshinowo to the demolition of Owode Onirin market and the Odogun community, clarifying that the issue at Odogun is a land dispute between Onikoro and Odogun residents, unrelated to the Council. Oshinowo has actively supported Owode Onirin market traders, engaging state and federal authorities to ensure justice and restoration, efforts widely acknowledged by stakeholders.

Under Oshinowo’s leadership, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA has emerged as one of Lagos State’s most progressive councils, with achievements in housing, education, infrastructure, ICT, and grassroots empowerment. The Ajelogo-Akanimodo Housing Scheme, a successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, was cited as a testament to Oshinowo’s strategic governance, delivering sustainable development through collaboration with credible investors.

The statement concluded with a firm assertion of Oshinowo’s loyalty to the APC and President Tinubu, urging the public to disregard false narratives. “Mayor Dele Oshinowo remains a loyal foot soldier of the APC and a firm believer in the transformational leadership of President Bola Tinubu. No false narrative will succeed in tarnishing the legacy of a man whose record speaks louder than words,” Olamilekan affirmed.
