To commemorate Senior Citizens Day, October 5, as approved in 2021, by former President Muhammadu Buhari, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Baba marked the occasion by celebrating and honouring about 200 elderly citizens from across her local council development area.

According to Bada, good health status of the elderly is paramount to her administration, “we are here with a physio therapist and a gerontologist to help enlighten them on the importance of their health.

“This day is meant celebrate them and to offer some comfort and downtime away from the many responsibilities that they carry.

People wonder why I celebrate and care for the older persons, the answer is simple, because I would grow old someday and I want to be celebrated too.

I want to be seen as a child, who loves her parents. I love all the older people.

I enjoy celebrating them. I have promised them a lot of things and I pray God helps me to fulfill them.

Also, I have delivered the message of our President to them. He has a lot for them.

I urge them to get their NIN done so the promises can get through to them as it is the criteria.

My administration will not relent in taking care of the older persons.” She concluded
