In a proactive move to strengthen educational initiatives within the community, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA embarked on a comprehensive tour of schools, distributing essential supplies to students. The tour, marked by the generous distribution of bags, books, and other educational items, underscores the administration’s commitment to enhancing the learning environment for young minds.

Accompanied by members of the Executive, Legislative, and Management teams, the Mayoress visited several schools within the Ikosi-Isheri community. The primary objective was to engage with students, teachers, and school administrators to better understand the educational needs and challenges faced by each institution.

During the tour, the Mayoress took the opportunity to interact with students, encouraging them to prioritize their education and pursue excellence in their academic endeavors. The distribution of school supplies, including bags and books, aimed to provide tangible support to students, easing the burden on both parents and educators.

The Mayoress expressed the administration’s dedication to creating a conducive learning environment, emphasizing that education is a cornerstone for individual and community development. The initiative aligns with the broader efforts of the LCDA to uplift the standards of education in the region.

This school tour follows a series of educational initiatives by the administration, including the yearly distribution of UTME and GCE examination forms, reconstruction of school infrastructure, and the establishment of an ICT center for the youth.

The Mayoress urged school administrators and teachers to continue fostering a culture of learning, promising ongoing collaboration and support from the LCDA. The community’s commitment to the welfare and educational progress of its young members remains a top priority for the administration.

A teacher to one of the beneficiary schools said “Every year, families and we teachers face the challenge of securing the essential materials and supplies students need to succeed, this gesture is quite laudable” said Mrs Akinrole.

As the Mayoress concluded the tour, distributing smiles along with the educational items, the sense of unity and purpose within the community was evident. This initiative not only addresses immediate educational needs but also lays the foundation for a brighter and more empowered generation in the local council development area.
