Business mogul and Social Democratic Party candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly in the forthcoming elections, Mr Lanre Carew, expressed his satisfaction over his experience at his polling unit, at Emmanuel Primary School, Ojota.
Mr Carew noted that the advent of the BVAs is INEC’s magic wand to eradicate the effect of rigging and other electoral malpractices in 2023 elections. He emphasized that the accreditation and voting was seamless, in his words, “I have never seen what I saw today, the level of enthusiasm. As a matter of fact I’m still in serious shock with the number of turnouts from the populace. Everybody wants to partake in this process. I give kudos to INEC , the system was flawless and I think BVAs is a major game changer, accreditation process was extremely fast.”
When asked about his expectations in the forthcoming elections, which he is contesting in, Carew noted that he remains confident and his stand hasn’t changed, “ I’m extremely positive and happy with what I saw today, the level of enthusiasm. Nigerians really want to take charge of their narratives and I think my people in my own constituency too. This is not the regular previous voting, where only 15 % or 20% of the populace comes out to vote and pick their representatives. With what I have seen today, I’m extremely happy and confident that it’s going to be wonderful.” He concluded.
