Kosofe Local government has also been served its own share of the tsunami rocking the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections. This played out during the outcome of the voting results as collated by INEC, it was observed that the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi defeated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
In the election results announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obi polled 46,554 votes to beat Tinubu who scored 36,883 votes.
Other presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 4,058 and 902 votes respectively.
