The Ajegunle All Stars football team defeated their Team Agboyi counterpart 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out at the Thomas Playing Field, Agboyi-Ketu, Kosofe, Lagos.

Both teams demonstrated their abilities during a novelty football match held on June 13, as part of program to commemorate the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in the recently concluded APC National Convention.

Other candidates celebrated included Lagos East Senatorial flagbearer, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru; Kosofe Federal Constituency candidate, Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara; and Hon. Femi Saheed, Kosofe Constituency 2 candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections, respectively.

The novelty football match was organized by Lagos State House of Assembly Aspirant, Mr. Olasupo Edward Olowe aka SP, in collaboration with his supporters, and featured two matches.

The Ajegunle All Star team was captained by Taribo, while other team members included former SLG to Agboyi Ketu, and current Super for Agric, Honourable Seyi Ikuejuyone, DSP Usman, Gbenro, and Abo (CDA), among others.

The full match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Agboyi team, as captained by Abiola Salami Alonzo, and team members included Olasupo Edward Olowe, AKA SP, former Councilor representing Ward G, Omotayo Kunana, Wahab, and John, among others.

Also present at the novelty match and victory party, where Fuji Star Sulaiman Alao Malika entertained guests, were the Sponsor, Hon. Olasupo Edward Olowe, Hon. Durosimi Babatunde,

Hon. Seyi Ikuejuyone, and Kafilat Ogbara Supporters. Others include Agboyi Ketu, APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Sunday Odekomaya, Woman Leader, Mrs. Folake Oluwo, APC Ward G Chairman, Mrs. Ayodele Pelewura, youths, political leaders, and several others.

Meanwhile, SP, who had earlier stepped down for the incumbent lawmaker, Honourable Femi Saheed, congratulated all the candidates of the party for their well-deserved victories. He said the twin event was to celebrate and drum up support for the party candidates ahead of the 2023 general elections.

He specifically congratulated Asiwaju Tinubu for his contributions to democracy and good governance, as well as the economic development of Lagos.

He praised Tinubu, particularly for his achievements in Lagos and his contributions to the growth and development of modern Lagos.

While urging Nigerians to get their permanent voter cards to elect a leader like Tinubu, who in his words will provide security, improve the economy, and turn the country around for the betterment of all, he assured us that his team would intensify efforts to ensure that the people of Kosofe get their PVCs.

In a separate interview, the councillor representing Ward J, Aderoju Adekunle, and the Ward Chairman, Mrs. Pelewura, commended the organizer and congratulated the party candidates.

According to Aderoju, “Tinubu’s emergence means prosperity and the real change people are expecting. We trust him; we believe in his ability and capability. When he is finally elected, he will change many things positively, so that people will be happy that they have a president governing them well.”

He advised Nigerians to get their PVCs to enable them to elect the leader of their own choice, like Tinubu.

On her part, the ward Chairman, Mrs Pelewura, described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emergence as a victory for the people of Ward G and Kosofe at large.

She reiterated that the APC presidential candidate will rescue Nigerians from the present quagmire when he becomes president in 2023.

She begs Nigerians to obtain voter registration cards, in order to have a voice they desire.
