• Kicks off exercise with desilting of blocked drainages

In a bid to show responsiveness to the plight of the motoring community, today, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA under the chairmaship of Mayor Dele Oshinowo began the reconstruction of Julius Elebiju Street, Ketu.

The street which is located in the Ward ‘A’ Area of the LCDA, is popular for containing huge vehicular flow.

Keeping a tab on the rceonstruction works at the behest of the Council Chairman, the Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure, Aare Alaba Saliu explained that the delay in executing the project a while back was due to its present status as an alternative route to the ongoing reconstruction of Demurin Road.

The supervisor noted that due to the burden carried by the road at the moment, and to ensure the exercise provides a stress-free journey for commuters, he added that most activities on the road would be undertaken during off-peak periods for vehicular movement, mostly Nights and Sundays.

Hon. Alaba further noted that the ongoing exercise would feature total asphalt resurfacing and fixing of collapsed drains, that aside the ongoing desilting of blocked drains in order to ensure the road respond to free flow of water during this monsoon season.

He further charged residents of the area to cooperate and support the contractor handling the reconstruction that would be executed in four weeks.
