Pandemonium struck at Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area over the appointment of Secretary to the Local Government and Supervisory Councilors. Information available to Kosofe Inside-Out was that the elected Chairman of the council, Hon. Oyesanya Abdulfatai who was said to have the backing of Lagos state House of Assembly member for Kosofe constituency 1, Hon. Bayo Oshinowo had blatantly refused the suggested list of candidates presented by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to the Local Government.
Hon. Oyesanya noted that the Governor is in no position to recommend anybody to them and would not regard them nor swear in the candidates as suggested by the governor instead he swore in his own candidates into office before official hours, as early as 6:30am, in the morning, Monday 6th of November, 2017.
The list suggested by the state house Includes: Mrs Kafayat Filaoye(SLG), Olalekan Folake Azeez ,Idowu Ashimi, Mrs Funke Alabi, Gbadesare Isiaka Fashola, Ajayi Olaniyi Isaac as supervisory councilors.
The list was however replaced with Dolapo Bashiru as SLG and Sikiru Alabi, Fatoki Kehinde, Yemi Oshofa, Abideen, Awokoya Sukanmi , Alhaji Mukaila Adisa as supervisory councilors.
They were sworn in by one Barrister Mutiu Ajisebutu and in the presence of the Clerk of the council , Mr Kehinde Fashola.
This same act was carried out at Kosofe Local Government and Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.
This is a step in the wrong direction, as it has stated clearly what could play out against Governor Ambode in the 2019 Governorship elections, and it shows there are cracks in the APC’s house of which if not mended, might be a huge setback for the ruling party in the future.
