While the Eid-El-Kabir celebration is still ongoing, defying the rain, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-isheri Local Council Development Area, popularly called MAYORESS, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, on Sunday, visited the scene of the recently collapsed ‘Federal’ bridge at Maidan-Orile community.

Federal bridge, a pedestrian bridge linking Ward F to Ward G of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, was constructed in the military era of Gen. Buba Marwa to ease the movement of people and carriages across the areas.

The MAYORESS, addressing the level of damage of the collapsed bridge, was grateful that no casualties were recorded, while she sympathized with the bridge users.

“We thank Almighty God that no live was lost but I am assuring you that I will take up this matter with the cooperation of the State government, and this bridge will be reconstructed very soon.

 

“Let’s be conscious of our environment and be peaceful while we enjoy the festive period, My heart is where my Community is”, said Princess Samiat Bada.

Present with her at the scene were the LCDA Legislative Leader and Councilor of Ward G, Rt. Hon. Yinusa Salami, Baale of Maidan-Patele-Orile community, Chief Soliu Olamilekan Onikoro, Ikosi-isheri Supervisor and S. A for Works & Infrastructure and other leaders.
