Real Madrid have progressed into this season’s UEFA Champions League final after beating Manchester City 1-0 in the second leg semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
They will now meet city rivals Atletico Madrid in this month’s final inside the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.
It will be the second all-Madrid final in three years after Real defeated Atletico in 2014.
Manchester City had control in the early part of the game but couldn’t find a breakthrough.
In the seventh minute Vincent Kompany was replaced by Eliaquim Mangala following an injury.
In the 13th minute Ronaldo met Carvajal’s cross but headed over the bar.
Bale opened the scoring in the 20th minute, as his right foot shot was deflected into the top right corner.
In the 32nd minute City had a chance to equalise but Navas’s cross was cleared away for a corner.
Three minutes later Pepe had the ball in the net from a free-kick but it was ruled offside.
On 43rd minute Bale tried a long range strike but Hart made a good save.
Fernandinho came close to drew level for City in the 44th minute only to see his low shot come off the post.
Madrid continued their domination and almost doubled their lead in the 55th minute following Ronaldo’s header which Hart claimed in the air.
A minute later Ronaldo had another chance after he was played through on goal but Hart made another good save from his low drive.
In the 61st minute, City introduced Raheem Sterling for Yaya Toure.
Madrid almost made it 2-0 in the 64th minute through Bale’s header which came off the edge of the post.
On 67 minutes Madrid brought on James Rodriguez for Isco.
City made their last substitution, bringing on Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho for Navas.
In the 82nd minute Sterling attempted a cross from the left but it went wide.
City won a free-kick on the corner flag in the 84th minute but De Bruyne’s strike hit the side-net.
Madrid made their final change on 88 minute, with Kovacic replacing Modric.
Aguero came close to drawing level with a thunderous right shot which hit the roof of Madrid net.
