In a move to alleviate the economic strain on the residents of Ikenne Remo and its surroundings, the Rising Hope Initiative has inaugurated the “Ikenne Community Kitchen” project. Located at the Alakenne Palace in Ikenne Remo, Ogun State, the project aims to offer free meals to approximately 500 to 1,000 individuals daily over the next three months.

 

The official opening ceremony saw the presence of key figures, including the paramount ruler of Ikenne Remo, Oba Adeyinka Onakade, who commended the initiative’s founders, Mrs. Kemi Soname and Honorable Kunle Soname. Oba Adeyinka expressed gratitude to the organizers, emphasizing the importance of such programs in the community.

 

Speaking on behalf of the Rising Hope Initiative, Kazeem Afolabi shed light on the project’s objectives. He highlighted the organization’s commitment to assisting the government in addressing the prevailing hardship, citing plans for similar initiatives across various localities.

 

Beneficiaries shared their appreciation for the initiative, underscoring its significance in light of current economic challenges. Chizoba Chidinma praised the program for its potential to alleviate hunger and foster community cohesion, while Christiannah Olayiwole lauded its inclusivity and positive impact on the town of Ikenne.

 

Kola Owolabi, another beneficiary, expressed optimism for the project’s continued success and its potential to uplift the community.

 

The “Ikenne Community Kitchen” project will serve breakfast from 8:00 am and dinner from 7:00 pm, providing essential support to those in need while promoting unity and resilience within the community.
