It was a sunny Sunday evening, match day 10 of the Nigerian Premier Football League at the Ikenne home of the Remo Stars Football Club.

Fans trooped out, despite some of them fasting in this month of Ramadan, to watch and support their favourite club, the Sky blue stars, while they play the visitors, Nasarawa United of the middle belt of Nigeria.

In the 16th minute, Samuel Anakwe’s acrobatic finish put the Sky blue stars in an early lead. This was Anakwe’s first attempt at goal. He was in action for the entire duration of the game

The Visitors attempted an equalizer in the 33rd minute, but Nduka Junior denied them with a clearance on the goal line.

The Ikenne based side came close as Andy Okpe’s header goes wide from close range in the 73rd minute of play.

Remo Stars moved up to fifth position with 17 points from 10 games following the win.

The Daniel Onigbinde’s side will travel away to Maiduguri for their next game against El-Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday.
