In a landmark development, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has spearheaded the remarkable transformation of the once-deplorable Ajakomo dump site in Ajelogo community, Agboyi Ketu LCDA. The area has now emerged as Greenwich Estate, a testament to visionary leadership and a stride in affordable housing.
Collaborating with Biufort Homes Ltd, Mayor Oshinowo’s administration celebrated this achievement with a grand flag-off ceremony at Greenwich Gardens. The event attracted a diverse audience, underscoring the significance of this project in the local community.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended Mayor Oshinowo for the transformative initiative, stressing its impact on alleviating housing deficits in the area. Governor Sanwo-Olu urged other council chairmen to follow Mayor Oshinowo’s commitment to housing development.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo recognized the pivotal role played by the private sector in this accomplishment, emphasizing the successful partnership that led to the redevelopment of Ajakomo dump site into Greenwich Estate.
During the ceremony, Mayor Oshinowo highlighted other ongoing projects, including Sterling Heights (106 units), Raymond Estates (64 housing units), a recreational center in Agboyi, and the We Lift ICT Hub.
Notable figures at the event, such as APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi and former council chairman Yetunde Arobieke, lauded Mayor Oshinowo’s leadership. Ojelabi urged continued efforts for the people of Agboyi Ketu LCDA and the APC.
Representing Biufort Homes, Olalekan Aboderin expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for commissioning the project and affirmed the group’s commitment to building affordable homes across Lagos and beyond. The 110 housing units in Greenwich Estate offer various configurations, including 2 bedrooms, 3 bedrooms, and semi-detached duplexes.
The pinnacle of the day was marked by the official placard unveiling led by Governor Sanwo-Olu and other dignitaries. The Governor took a comprehensive tour of the site, inspecting the commendable work carried out by Biufort Homes Ltd. The transformation of Ajakomo dump site into Greenwich Estate stands as a beacon of progress and collaborative urban development in Lagos.
