Today, June 15, 2023,  marks the third year, which Kosofe suffered a huge political loss, in person of Late Senator Adebayo Osinowo.

Osinowo who had represented the constituency 1 of Kosofe at the Lagos State House of Assembly before ascending to the Senate, in 2019. His death was announced on 15th of June, 2020, which was said to have been caused by symptoms of to Covid 19.

The Senator representing Lagos -East Senatorial District, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, has remembered his late predecessor on the third anniversary of his return to his creator. Abiru, in a statement personally signed, noted that Lagos-East would not forget the memories of Senator Bayo Osinowo’s doggedness and pragmatism, in a long time. The statement reads;

“The memories of my predecessor in the  Senate, Late  Distinguished Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo will always live on. He was an influential politician who impacted many lives in his political base and beyond. June 15, 2020, deep grief enveloped the entire Lagos State when news got out that Pepperito had died. What a colossal loss!

Today, with a heart full of gratitude to Almighty Allah, I remember my illustrious predecessor who died in active service to our esteemed Constituents of the Lagos East Senatorial District.

I salute Late Osinowo’s astuteness in politics and his sterling achievements when he served the good people of Kosofe Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly and later as the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

As we all remember my beloved Late predecessor, I join the family, friends and political associates of Late Senator Osinowo in praying for the continuous repose of the soul of the departed. May Almighty Allah be merciful to him in Aljannah. Ameen.”

He concluded.
