Senator Bayo Osinowo

When the news of the N30m donation from Hon. Bayo Osinowo a.k.a. Pepper rented the air on the social media, through the cronies of the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Bolanle Onikosi, most of his constituents reached out to Kosofe Inside-Out through phone calls, text

messages and all of our other social media platforms, they wanted to know details and what the sharing formula would be, ditto the mechanisms to be adopted. The reasons were to know the possibilities of becoming beneficiaries or to forego it to the politicians.

Our first point of duty, from the moment calls started bugging with questions, was to refer to the statement, however we observed that the media release wasn’t signed by anybody, hence it is rendered redundant as it could be easily denied. To our surprise, next morning the distinguished Senator’s handle on the social networking website, twitter, made the grand announcement of his donation of N30m to Lagos East Senatorial District.
We followed with our investigations through his cronies, but to our amazement, most of them were unaware but got the news from our investigations. In the course of our fact-finding, we confirmed that the N30m donation was actually undertaken by three chairmen of the 16 chairmen of LGAs/LCDAs making up the Lagos East Senatorial District.  The exercise was carried out side-lining many other Pepper’s foot soldiers and political associates by the trio of  chairmen of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and Somolu local government, Princess Samiat Onikosi, Mr Dele Oshinowo and Mr Abdulhamed Salawu, respectively.
It is on record that the State’s economic stimulus package failed twice, findings revealed that the purveyors of the N30m Hon Osinowo’s donation knew what went down and have 2noted that the total number of the selected beneficiaries comprises of the party members of APC party members, CDAs/CDCs, Market men and women, CAN, league of Imams, 20 persons in each of the 98 wards, Artisans, NURTW others were pulled from Somolu; 400, Bariga: 400, Kosofe; 350, Agboyi ketu; 350, Ikosi isheri: 350, Ikordu West; 250, Ikorodu North; 250, Ikorodu central: 400, Imota; 200, Ikosi Ejirin; 300, Eredo; 250, Epe; 400, Lekki; 250, Ibeju Lekki; 350 respectively, amounts to about 4450 persons got 2500 each. This is approximately 11Million.
It is worthy to note that the stakeholders of Hon. Osinowo’s main community, Kosofe constituency 1 were not carried along in this development. The 2 legislators representing Kosofe local government at the House of Assembly, Hon OKLA and Hon Tunde Braimoh, didn’t have a clue of how it came about, that their body language says it all, as none of them lend their voice to the propaganda being perpetuated by the few involved.
To clear the reactions that trailed the distribution of the cash donations, the plotters of the Bayo Osinowo Audio N30m donation have hurriedly sponsored an article in the vanguard newspaper, claiming that they have disbursed N2,500 each to 12,000 indigents. A colleague, who also works with the Vanguard newspaper, confirmed it was a sponsored story, ‘it is for this reason the reporter decided not to bring his ‘byeline’ to disrepute’, she noted. It is up to the Kosofe people, a major fraction of the acclaimed beneficiaries. If complains didn’t cease in Kosofe, Senator Osinowo’s major constituency, what is the fate of the other 13 LGAs/LCDAs?
Can the handlers make public what is shared to each of the 98 wards, alongside names and telephone numbers of recipients?
A media aide to Hon. Osinowo, whose identity we decided not to make public, in his conversation with Kosofe Inside-Out, noted that, “the relief fund when divided across all wards of the Lagos East Senatorial District, it will amount to N360,000 per ward, for all the 16 LGAs and LCDAs.”
The question is, has ANY ward in Kosofe Local government, or the 2 LCDAs received the sum of N360,000 cash donations from our distinguished Lagos East Senator?
