The much talked about Ikosi-Isheri Magodo Cultural Festival, has come and gone leaving many with fun memories and trust me, the Ikosi-Isheri local government have been able to pull-off a world class cultural festival. You can’t but be dazed at the sight of the standard and callibre of acts who were on display, ranging from the world class Adunni and the Nefertiti amongst other notable cultural dancers.
The two days event which commenced with a roadshow, pageantry, hundreds of beautifully dressed cultural dancers, cultural dance troupes with masquerade, A-list Hip Hop acts, Afro Juju Sir Shina Peter, Tunji Sotimirin, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, Saidi Balogun, Koffi Idowu Nuel, Yinka Davies, Mandy amongst other notable superstars. The event didn’t end without the performance of internationally recognised cultural bands.

Wife of the Lagos State Governor, ably represented by Anike Adekanye, the Permanent Secretary District 2, Lagos State Ministry of Education, has commended the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area for organising a cultural festival, noting that a society that promotes its cultural heritage will witness rapid development.


“This kind of cultural festival is an encourageable platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the various people residing in the LCDA.
“We commend the council chairman, Princess Samiat Bada, for this beautiful cultural festival, because it showcased the richness of various ethnic groups in the society.
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy title, Dr. Wale Ahmed, Ekiti Commissioner for Culture and tourist,Prof. Rasak Ojo Bakare also took time out to attend the event.

Also, Former member of House of Representatives, Dayo Alebiosu, Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Hon. Femi Saheed, Member of Lagos Audit Board Commission, Hon. (Mrs) Kafilat Ogbara, Hon. Abiodun Akhigbe, Farmcity boss and Kosofe Chairmanship aspirant, Lanre carew were guests at the CMD Shangisha venue of the Magodo Cultural Festival.

Agboyi Ketu LCDA Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo and his Shomolu counterpart Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu Dullar, All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Omoba Muyiwa Sosanya, Pa S. A Oyedele, and Abiodun Salami were attendees.

Oba Samuel Alamu Oloyede, Onikosi of Ikosi and Oba Fatai Aileru Lawal, Oba of Shangisha, other traditional institutions and the Ikosi-Isheri community troop out en masse to enjoy their Itunu-awe break with a touch of culture and entertainment.
