As the APC convention hots up and by extension, the general elections of 2023, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area Administration Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada has intensified efforts to increase the continuous voter registration and revalidation of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) at the grassroots level. The Mayoress as she is popularly called organized a stakeholders meeting with residents, in order to sensitize them.

The event was well attended by all major stakeholders which includes; Councilors, Community Development Associations, Community Development Committee, Market Women and Men, Christian Association of Nigeria, League of Alfas and Imam, Monarchs and Baales, Political Leaders, youth and women groups, also the Umbrella body for Artisans; Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans, LASCOTA Attended the stakeholders’ meeting, IKosi Isheri chapter, Arewa group, amongst others.

The executive Chairman called on eligible voters to proceed to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) designated centres in the council to register and get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC). This, the council chairman, Samiat Bada, noted is important to elect credible people during elections, and also implored them to support the Presidential aspirant of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mrs Samiat told the participants during the sensitisation programme held yesterday at Sen. Adebayo Oshinowo Hall, Ikosi Isheri Lcda, area of Lagos, adding that the PVC is their power to vote for their choice of leaders in any election.

The Chairman, while highlighting the importance of the on-going registration and revalidation exercises, urged residents to ensure they revalidate their PVC to enable them to perform their civil responsibilities in the 2023 general elections.

The council Chairman, through the Council Chief of Staff, Mr. Muyideen Balogun, announced the standing committees and their contacts to ensure that all residents register by bringing the exercise to their domain for seamless registration.

The council boss said ward leaders have been mobilised and will be on standby to assist people at registration centres.

“We also made provision for those who want to do the registration online to make it seamless. They will just go to the INEC office to be captured and collect their PVCs when ready, “ The Mayoress concluded.
