The Rising Hope Initiative launches its pilot scheme for education support. The organization, led by Mrs Kemi Soname, the wife of the first Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Chairman, Bet9ja and Value Jet Boss, Mr Kunle Soname. Mrs Soname  launches the pilot scheme to assist disadvantaged students, especially pupils of public primary schools and students of public secondary schools through her more community based-support scheme, the Rising Hope Initiative.

The pilot is set to provide educational packs (which comprises of three or five books each) to all the 46 public Schools in Ikenne local government, Ogun State. All the 24 primary schools and 22
secondary schools located in towns like Ikenne, Irolu, Ogere, Ilisan and Iperu towns of Ogun State benefits from this scheme.
“Providing these students with a structured and supervised study packs give them the opportunity to develop good studying habits, routine checks and monitoring will help them succeed in life,” says Mrs Soname.
The founder, Mrs Kemi Soname also noted that the reason they are distributing over 20,000 study-packs which also Includes past questions from 1991-2019, she believes children who are determined to study should have access to books, in her words, “Unfortunately, many children across the country don’t have easy access to books, this has led to the dwindling in our education standard, as most of the schools in the country don’t have  libraries. How do you get the best out of a child who doesn’t have the resources to prosper academically?”
When asked about the measures put in place to secure a smooth process, Alhaji Afolabi Kazeem, a board member, and the first Executive Secretary of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, stated that the rising hope initiative is on a mission to improve the standard of education in the State, and by extension the entire country. “When these students receive their study packs, we do not leave them to it, the process is being supervised by the ministry of education, while teachers are also encouraged with tokens in order to ensure the success of the pilot scheme. We have the support of the publishers of the books, Mr Kunle Ismail, of Emirates publishers, alongside his team are ready to work with the teachers in achieving the vision of improving the standard of learning of the students,” he said.
One of the students, Ademuyi Opeyemi of Ikenne Secondary School, couldn’t hide the joy in his heart, says he appreciates the kind gesture of the Sonames, that they have been a good pillar of support to his community, he said a very big thank you to board members as well as partners of the rising hope initiative.
The Rising Hope Initiative is a not-for-profit organization which has been seeing to the welfare and uplifting the living standard of the less privileged, widows, expecting mothers not leaving out skill acquisition for the youths since 2006.
